BCM644 - Grav-lift battle x2 with ten Marines
(8:04) Level 3 ('The Truth and Reconciliation') on Legendary. In the first 10-Marine grav-lift battle of this duo, I revisit a tree featured earlier, except that I'm not dangling in a Shade this time. Then for the second round I'm up a slope on the right, mingling with the Marines and using an AR & needler.

00:02 (Sniping in a tree) You might recall this tree from BCM635, where I was briefly using a dangling Shade. Later on, I thought I'd try using it as a perch for sniping and grenading. It's easy to jump into.
In this example featuring the Stacker twins, the eight main waves are dealt with in speedy fashion, thanks to some nice grenade blasts. There's even a good one from a Marine. He targets wave 6 around 2:25, but my plasma deals with that one, and his frag instead decimates wave 7. As it turns out, wave 8 gets an explosive greeting too, namely with the plasma I'd thrown for wave 7. It kills four before they've even touched down, including the Elite. So these final three waves made an excellent climax to that phase of the battle.
Also in this battle, around 1:16 I wipe out the dropship troops with a carefully aimed frag. I think that's the first time I've featured such a wipeout. Another nice incident early on: a long-range tag on a Shade gunner, around 0:33. I was willing to use up that plasma as I'd spotted a nearby replacement I could pick up.
03:29 (AR & needler, up a slope on the right) I thought this area on the right might be an enjoyable hold-out spot, giving a dynamic similar to the "AR hold-out" in the blade corner featured in BCM641. In both cases, the covies have to come up a slope to get at us.
Instead of only using the AR though, I decided to also bring a needler into play, as we haven't had much of that in these battle movies. Turned out pretty nicely, with a number of Elites going bang from my needle streams. The covies keep trying to come up the slope, and that gives me a steady supply of needles and plasmas.
When the Hunters come, I switch things up by charging in for some aggressive close-up work. One of the Stacker twins (yes, I've got two Stackers again) takes damage from one of my needle bangs, but he really should know better than to just stand there when bangs are so clearly coming. Doesn't he know how needlers work?
As with that other hold-out battle, this one runs relatively long, giving it a bit of a marathon sort of feel.
Closing remarks Two more battle movies to come, in this introductory series illustrating some of the combat possibilities.
