BCM635 - Grav-lift battle x2 with ten Marines
(7:54) Level 3 ('The Truth and Reconciliation') on Legendary. Once again I'm grav-lift battling with ten Marines, using the same set-up. In the first battle I do some perched sniping on what I call the island rock, and then for the second I go in with a needler and plasma rifle, and also have a novel experience with a turret in a tree!

00:02 (Sniping on the island rock) Once I'm up on this rock, which is somewhat out on its own like an island, I just do sniping and grenade work. I'm annoyed that I forgot to switch on my flashlight after my camo wore off though. That makes my sniper rifle look very dark, and normally I wouldn't have used a play where I made such a mistake. But this one happened to include a glorious wave wipeout with a plasma grenade, and that's the main reason I used the play regardless. The covies didn't even touch down; they got blasted when still in the air.
My sniping gets a little ragged when it comes to the final Hunter, but I get him in the end.
03:20 (Needler & plasma rifle - plus unplanned tree turret) My plan this time was basically to do a lot of moving around using a needler and plasma rifle, but things get weird for a while. On the spur of the moment, I decide to try and blast the nearby Shade over to the vicinity of the grav-lift for some possible use (a theme I'll be getting into later), but it gets caught in a tree. After a failed attempt, I manage to board it for some novel shooting. When the covies get distant though, I bail and get back to the original plan, having some good fun.
This was a relatively long play, but I thought that the turret novelty was worth showing, quite apart from the more serious work. And anyway, the length has got balanced out by the relatively quick first play.
Note: the wave at around 4:55 is anomalous. The Jackals come down super-fast and the Elite seems to just materialize on the grav-lift. I've seen anomalous waves before, and continue to keep an eye out for them, hoping to get some idea of what's going on.
Closing remarks Another two battles coming up! Been having a great time with the gameplay.
