BCM642 - Grav-lift battle x2 with ten Marines
(7:42) Level 3 ('The Truth and Reconciliation') on Legendary. Once again, two grav-lift battles with ten Marines. In the first I try a Shade attack from the relatively bright supply area, then in the second I go dynamic with aggressive AR & plasma fire.

Commentary
00:02 (Shade attack, supply area) At the start of this battle I run to the vicinity of the Pelican drop, to then engage in some 'remote support' of the original Marines when they advance into the battlefield. My sniping isn't the best and I miss quite a few shots, but at least I get a Jackal in the back when he's facing the Marines, so that was nice.
As for the main business, I already featured a Shade attack in BCM637, but here I'm setting up shop in a different place, blasting my chosen turret down into the supply area. It's relatively bright there and I'll have Marines clustered around me. Marines including two Stackers, as it happens!
Tackling the main waves goes well enough, though I take rather too many needles from the second wave, dropping my health to only four bars. There's an amusing incident around 2:23 with a newly arrived wave (wave 6), when a Grunt tags the Elite from behind. The Elite then runs off the platform with the plasma fizzing on his head. Good work grunty!
Later with the last wave, I have to briefly dismount to get rid of a Jackal the Marines seem unable to handle. That episode holds things up for half a minute or so, but it has a certain amount of comedy payoff when I take care of things.
When the Hunters turn up and start firing, I quickly bail for safety reasons, much like in my previous Shade attack. Turrets seem like magnets for Hunter fire!
Note: I believe that the checkpoint I get at 3:15 is one that was triggered along with wave 4, but which got delayed due to enemy threat and active ordnance. I finally got it because the one existing covie is sheltering behind cover.
04:36 (AR & plasma rifle) Here's another battle featuring the Stacker twins. They're certainly having a good showing in this movie!
My approach this time is to do a lot of moving around, wreaking havoc with AR, plasma rifle and grenades. At it turns out, the main waves get dealt with super fast, and especially the first three, which get decimated by grenade use. From the time the first wave is almost at the platform (within grenade blast distance) to when the waves are done with, that's about 74 seconds, which I suspect is the fastest time in the battles I've shown so far.
Would've been faster if my wave anticipation grenade around 6:29 hadn't gone long. I jerked my aim up a bit at the last moment, and I knew I'd messed up as soon as the grenade was flying. Annoying!
Note: there's a nice clear example of descent fire around 5:41, aimed at some Marines crossing the grav-lift. There's heavy fire from the Elite with his plasma rifle, but you can also see both Jackals using plasma fire, and there are a few needles coming down too.
Closing remarks Yep, you guessed it; another two battles coming up next, with still more to come after that. I can also mention that I've been working on something special to follow these battle movies. Gonna be good! That should end up being BCM647 if my plans hold.
