BCM547 - Freakiness and fun, assorted clips
(5:33) Various levels and difficulties. My 33rd 'freakiness and fun' compilation shows 16 freaky or amusing incidents, many of which occurred while recording footage for my usual movies - so you may recognize some of the situations. It's mostly level 5 stuff here, but three items relate to recent work in level 4.

Commentary
00:02 (Grunty blockage) In the sleeping Grunts room I tail a patrolling Elite, but he comes up against a bit of a blockage and eventually he spots me - at which point I make my escape. June 2024 footage from when I was recording possible end sequences for BCM500. Level 5, Heroic.
00:31 (Wraith bounce) Heading back along the battlefield, my Ghost bounces up off the Wraith after being blasted. But luckily it lands right side up and I'm able to keep on going. August 2024 footage, which I think was from when I was recording for BCM506. Level 5, Legendary.
00:48 (Elite mountaineer) Tower zone megabattle in progress here. An Elite dives to get clear of my plasma grenade, and ends up on a steep slope, quite high up on the side of the tower. Not sure I've seen an Elite up there before! I try to tag him but it goes through his legs, and then I have to concentrate on slaying his colleagues. Afterwards though, I return to give him a stream of needles. July 2023 footage from when I was recording for BCM442. Level 5, Normal.
01:10 (Jackal pancake) When reminding myself of 'rejoined landing battle' stuff, I got a checkpoint with three Jackals ahead. After splattering a Jackal nicely against the rock he was near, I did some more takes to get a good sequence, and this one was my favourite. I got the tail swing just right. January 2025 footage. Level 4, Heroic.
01:26 (High-T guys) With this snow machine save (which was used in BCM521) I'd noticed that the first guy would often go into a T-pose when tagged (success rate about 50% actually). Later I realised the other guy could do it too, though he seemed much less likely to. Anyway, I figured I could get an amusing clip out of this by tagging both and, if lucky, getting T-poses both times. In the course of a great many tries I obtained a bunch of such clips, and this was my favourite. The view of the first T-pose is nice and close. January 2025 footage. Level 5, Heroic.
01:51 (Bounce tag) In trying to get a tree in my Warthog, the hog actually passes through the tree. A Grunt then lobs a grenade our way, and it bounces off the windscreen to tag me. Not good! September 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM514. Level 5, Heroic.
02:04 (Ninja Grunt) In this tower zone megabattle I get the Shade Grunt ejected nicely, but when I then try to splatter him he cheekily skips off the top of the Banshee. Pretty good move, you have to say. Rather than a round of applause though, I give him a fuel rod blast. I am a cyborg after all. April 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM474. Level 5, Normal.
02:19 (Boarding delay) A tower zone megabattle again, and specifically a plateau channel defence. A blue Elite is strangely hesitant to board the Ghost I just tagged. He takes a bit of coaxing, but eventually gets his bearings and clambers in, allowing me to destroy it with a rocket. May 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM487. Level 5, Normal.
02:56 (Long dive) A pretty impressive dive from this Grunt wouldn't you say? It's because of the slope. He hits it part way through and it adjusts his angle somewhat (he was starting to head down, then he went level), extending his flight. May 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM493. Level 5, Heroic.
03:13 (Deck clearance) Here I make an Elite on the lower deck dive off the bridge. Anticipating his move, I curve around to give him some mid-air attention. September 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM511. Level 5, Heroic.
03:28 (Talking to me?) In this bit of descent action in the main shaft, I think I was trying to get the Marines down, starting with a bounce off that fourth prong, a method that seemed promising. But it didn't work out, and suddenly I heard Stacker talking, and he was amusingly facing the wall. December 2024 footage. Level 4, Heroic.
03:49 (Grunt fountain) Bit of long-distance rocketing here, in a tower zone megabattle. First I rocket a Jackal, but then comes the main act, when I rocket an arc of six Grunts plus two Jackals. September 2023 footage from when I was recording for BCM462. Level 5, Normal.
04:14 (Bad arrival) Yep, not a great arrival in this rear approach. For starters I don't brake soon enough to avoid splattering a dopey Marine who takes no avoiding action at all, and then I get tagged by a Grunt and go flying. At least I took a couple of Grunts with me. January 2025 footage from when I was recording for BCM544. Level 4, Heroic.
04:32 (Danger! Falling Grunts) While trying to tackle a Hunter, my Ghost overshoots the edge of the hill and happens to splatter a Jackal. An amusing accident. September 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM509. Level 5, Heroic.
04:48 (Death dive) This Grunt spontaneously dies when diving off the angled skirting. I've shown this phenomenon before; see the start of BCM337, plus two further clips in the same movie. June 2024 footage from when I was recording for BCM496. Level 5, Legendary.
05:04 (Late surprise) In this tower zone megabattle I fly off to do some long-range sniping, but just as I'm coming in to land, BOOM! - a Hunter shot connects. August footage from when I was recording for BCM446. Level 5, Normal.
Closing remarks Actually I'd been thinking to do another movie of rejoined landing battles on Legendary, but I decided to instead leave that a while. I'll come back to it. I figured I could maybe assemble a new 'freakiness and fun' compliation; and soon I had something shaping up.
Incidentally, according to my calculations, my 'freakiness and fun' movies have now covered exactly 600 incidents. Quite a few!
