BCM567 - Twin bridges Banshee flipping trick

(6:34) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Heroic. Here's a tutorial for a simple old trick; and see also my new article, Twin bridges Banshee flipping trick. Been meaning to cover this for a long time.

Released April 9th 2025, gameplay recorded April 6th-8th 2025.

Commentary

00:02 (The trick) After a brief bit of explosive action at the underpass, there's a bit more covie slaying in the battlefield and then I do the trick, flipping the Banshee with one shot, having used the sniper rifle for precise aiming (my favoured aim).

00:59 (Banshee acquisition and use) Acquiring the flipped Banshee is easy. I kill a few covies on the way (could've killed more), then take care of the pilot and get airborne for some novel combat against the remaining covies. Incidentally, with this Banshee fun in mind, I'd eliminated the Marine sniper even before the underpass. I wanted to be in control of most of the killing. The same applies to later takes too.

02:32 (Shooting from a rock) Here's the rock option. In this case the rock is good. The view of the Banshee is slightly better than at the tree in fact.

03:14 (Bad rock) The rock is too low this time. During recording, there was another one I had which was likewise too low. So there are at least two 'bad' versions. Didn't bother with a full check.

03:40 (Other side of the tree) You can use the other side of the tree, but the branches are rather hazardous, as seen here!

04:01 (Without the sniper rifle) In this play I have to do without the sniper rifle, so there's no precision aiming. However, I get the job done with my second rocket.

04:41 (Banshee acquisition and use again) Once again I head off to steal the Banshee. This time I destroy a Ghost along the way, just for fun, with a ground rocket. Love doing that. Once I'm airborne, there's a novel incident (5:14) where a covie Ghost gets shunted up onto the cliff base. When I saw that it was still up there after the first fuel rod shot, I realised I had a really nice target for the kill shot, and I made sure to get nice and close for that. A glorious explosion.

05:59 (Use on bridge troops) Finally, a brief example of some bridge action, just to highlight the potential (although, Normal would be better for bridge combat). Banshee play at the bridges is actually quite a topic in its own right, and I expect to cover it in depth sometime.

Closing remarks I'm glad to get this old trick covered at last. And hey, is this a record or what? I've just gone 37 movies without a level 5 one! Holy cow. Didn't realize it had been so long. Usually I have a tough time getting away from that level!
